It was incredibly honour to participate the Craft Hub EU project and presence on behalf of Craft Scotland at Craft Hub Eu conference at Oslomet University. Craft Hub EU was a joint initiative that engaged partners from the UK and various European Union countries including Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Greece, Norway, and Denmark. The project received co-funding from Creative Europe.

My presentation was about "Aesthetics of Art Jewellery and related crafts in Cultural Contexts"- As part of the larger modernist movement in Fine Art, visual language play a crucial role in the aesthetics of contemporary studio jewellery and crafts.  For several reasons, modernism did not have the same cultural force in China, the understanding of personal expression aesthetics in studio jewellery within the contexts of Chinese and Western cultures exhibits some difference.

The presentation introduced the practice research I have done for my PhD study, comparing the communication between the practice with same inspiration under two perspective of thinking.

For me to say, it was an honour and a privilege to attend the Craft Hub EU conference in Oslo, thanks to the opportunity and support provided by Craft Scotland. The conference was a rich and stimulating platform for sharing and learning from the diverse and innovative practices, research and perspectives of the craft community. It was a valuable and inspiring experience to learn from and exchange ideas with other makers, researchers and academics from different cultural backgrounds and disciplines. I am truly grateful to Craft Scotland for their assistance and encouragement throughout the process and I would love to make more contributions in the future’.
